Subject: The British Environmental Survey
From: R.Vickers at lboro.ac.uk

I would like to invite you to take part in research that looks at
environmentalism in Britain. As a committed environmentalist I would
like
to finds ways to encourage more people to help protect and improve our
environment. To do this I'm asking for the help of other
environmentalists
- I would like you to tell me what motivates you to participate. You can
do this by filling in an online questionnaire at www.the-bes.org this
should take no more than 10-15 minuets. I hope that you can take part
because I'm interested in your views and I believe that this is a
worthwhile project.

I would be very grateful if you would forward this e-mail to others in
your local environmental group and, to anyone else that you know who
takes
part in environmental activities or campaigns.

This research is entirely impartial - it is being conducted under strict
supervision at Loughborough University. All the information you provide
will be treated as anonymous and strictly confidential. It will only be
used for the purposes of this research and will not be passed on to any
other parties.

The results of the survey will be available at www.the-bes.org shortly.
If
you have any questions or would like more information about the research
I
can be contacted at r.vickers at lboro.ac.uk

Thank you for your help.
