NOTES FOR PARTICIPANTS.
Sorry to be a bit officious, but we need a few ground rules to ensure a
smooth running event:
1. Cycling whilst under the influence of alcohol can be hazardous (and
illegal!) - take it easy and alternate or substitute with soft drinks if
you are not an experienced drinking cyclist.
2. This is not a formal ride - there is no registration - you are free to
join and leave the ride wherever you wish, miss out pubs etc, and you are
responsible for your own conduct and safety. We will try to keep to time
to help people joining at points en route. If you decide to stay in a pub
etc you must find your own way back.
3. This guide should help you find your own way, but the ride will be
properly led and those wishing to be guided on any stage must depart the
pub with the leaders.
4. The organisers will assist with mechanical breakdowns if possible, but
ultimately participants are responsible for their own equipment. Leaders
will be carrying mobile phones for emergency communications.
5. The schedule calls for an on-road average cycling speed of 10 miles per
hour - the cycling distance is 18 miles. If you cannot manage this, please
don't try it for the first time on this ride.
6. Have a GOOD TIME!!!
