>As mentioned in a previous meeting, we have done plenty of talking,

>action, and carry out some of the tasks (I realise you are volunteers
>in the pool and do not expect any of you to do more than you can/want
>to do)

The emphasis of the transport partnership is community involvement in
transport planning.

We as community members/activists must work together and present a united
front to convince the other partners that we are serious about being involved.

The biggest obstacle to this is the diverse range of issues that face the
community, and the number of separate groups that are 'fighting' for the
same cause.

We have identified that there are some issues that affect all the 3 main
groups that participate in the pool meetings ie. pedestrians, cyclists and
public transport users so I think it would be a good idea if we could have
an agreed member from each of these groups willing to commit some time to
being the 'champion' for these groups, and be able and willing to be
representative of all, until we decide the action plan I have no idea what
amount of time will need committing nor what tasks.

There are also the other six themes, it would be fantastic if we could get
a representative from the other pools to either attend our meeting or at
least be willing to act as a contact for issues that cross over, and the
same for the communities of interest, I am happy to chase this up but if
you are aware of anybody from within these other groups that you think will
be a good candidate, or if you yourself are willing to fulfil this role,
please let me know.

To be truly effective there must be a real sense of cooperation between us.

I realise that as volunteers at the pool asking you to commit time is a big
request, I as facilitator am here to assist and be utilised, I am paid for
this role so do take advantage (within reason :)) but please do bear in
mind that the emphasis is on your involvement.
