19:30, 22nd October, Venue: Committee Room 4, Manchester Town Hall

Joe Ravetz, co-Director of CURE (the Centre for Urban and Regional
Ecology) at Mancheter University and author of City Region 2020 has
described routes toward sustainability at a city and regional level.

Developing his work for the Regional Development Agencies on ecological
footprints, Joe will discuss how modeling human systems and information
chains can ensure budgets encompass environmental sustainability and
social equity.

For further information, contact Lydia Meryll (GMSERA secretary) on 0161
249 0943.

This year Greater Manchester SERA is again working closely with other
environmental groups to ensure that there is public discussion of issues
which affect ordinary people, who do not usually get a voice. SERA will
then work towards the most effective lobbying strategies to bring about
change.
