MANCHESTER ABUNDANCE PROJECT
We are starting a new project to collect unwanted fruit from gardens in
Manchester
and distribute it to individuals and groups who want it. The project
will
be along similar lines to the Abundance Project in Sheffield (see
http://www.growsheffield.com/pages/groShefAbund.html).
Our next meeting for the Abundance project will be on Saturday 28th June
at 4.30 at Ossory Street allotment in Moss Side (the entrance is on
Great
Western Street, near the end which comes off Oxford Road - see
http://www.amas.org.uk/manchester_allotments/plots/ossory_street/). Meet
there even if it's raining and then we can go elsewhere!
The meeting will be to discuss how the project will work, see what needs
to be done to get the project started and see who is interested in doing
which jobs. These will include contacting groups who may want free
fruit,
making and distributing leaflets, investigating funding, picking fruit,
distributing fruit, eating fruit.
