Cultivating Communities Conference
24th June 2008 10am to 4.30pm
Buile Hill Park, Salford.
'Cultivating Communities' is a Regional Conference showcasing the best
of community led environmental initiatives and partnership projects in
Salford and across the North West.
A host of inspirational workshops will explore good practice in
developing the Cleaner and Greener agenda in local communities.
Four coach visits will take delegates on tours of Salford to see how the
city is changing and meeting the challenges of improving the physical
environment and increasing community engagement/ cohesion.
Delegates will have the opportunity to see the RHS award winning In
Bloom and Alley gating schemes in the Seedley and Langworthy area, visit
youth and community projects and Sports Village in Charlestown and Lower
Kearsal ‘New Deal for Communities’ area, see the National Neighbourhood
Management Award 'Environment winners' for Parks and open spaces in
Irlam and Cadishead and hear about the cities wider strategic
regeneration programmes including a visit to BBC Mediacity.
The Conferences is the Annual Conference of Northwest Together We Canand
is being organised by the Seedley and Langworthy Trust, Salford City
Council Neighbourhood Management and is supported by Community
Northwest, Guide Neighbourhoods, Manchester Metropolitan University and
others to be confirmed.
