with Dr Leander Wolstenholme. Our landscape is littered with clues that
tell us how the land has been used in the past and what species used to
live and grow there.
Focusing on the botany and investigating a number of habitats, this day
school will explore various ways to develop a deeper understanding of
the landscape and relate it to events from the past.
• Indicator species
• Exotic species
• How trees and hedgerows have been managed
• Place names
• Farming practices
