Hi
is someone pulling my leg or is this thing about Manchester leading the UK
carbon cutting program a serious suggestion? Considering what Manchester
does best:-
Mania for economic growth
Manchester airport.
Beetham Tower/city high rise developments
unsustainable development in centre and suburbs
Road building schemes
M60
Plans to make Mcr a regional centre with accompanying centralisation and
associated commuting.
shoddy public transport
etc etc
And why is this being pitched as a competition. It's the ethos of
competition that's driving climate change and driving environmental
destruction. We need to create a climate of cooperation not competition.
Manchester and the UK government needs some deep fundemental change in
attitude before it can
make any claim on putting the world to right
best wishes
Lance crookes
