Dear colleague
You are invited to join Manchester's show of solidarity and support to all
those affected by the bombings in London
Date : Thursday 14 July 2005
Time: 11.50am to 12.10pm.
Place: Albert Square
The Leader of the City Council will be joined the Lord Mayor and
representatives of the city community, emergency services, faith groups
and workers to deliver messages of support. A two-minute silence, started
by the Town Hall clock chimes at 12 noon will be observed.
At 12.10 pm there will be the opportunity for everyone to sign the Book of
Condolence to be sent from Manchester to London.
The events in London have been horrific but we cannot give in to terror and
we must continue to go about our everyday business without fear. In the
aftermath of the Manchester bomb, we were all inspired by the commitment,
partnership and unity of purpose we experienced among colleagues. Our
thoughts are with everyone in London as they rise to the challenge of this
appalling and criminal experience.
Howard Bernstein,
Chief Executive
