**Announcing the following seminar: Date - Tuesday 21st June, at 4.00pm.
Venue - room H18, the Pariser Building, University of Manchester.  All
are welcome, bring your colleagues and friends along.  There will be
some Light refreshments before the seminar at 3.45pm.

               “Developing scenarios for climate change”



Speaker: Dr Chris Anastasi, Senior Environmental Advisor, British Energy
plc.

An interactive Seminar exploring the way scenarios are developed and
used by stakeholders in the climate change debate

Chris Anastasi is currently Senior Environmental Advisor for British
Energy plc having joined the Company in that capacity in July 1998.  He
has a background in environment and the related areas of energy,
economics and technology.

Chris was educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge before
joining Shell Research Ltd in 1977, where he led a number of energy and
environment related projects.  In 1985, he returned to academic life at
the University of York where he set up and ran a group with wide ranging
interests in the environment area.  Chris worked in Strategic Planning
in Shell International in 1993 and 1995 where he acted first as
consultant, and subsequently as Senior Advisor on Environment and
Technology.  He returned to the University of York in 1996. 

Chris has published and lectured widely and acted as advisor and
consultant to a number of government and non- government organisations
both in the UK and internationally. He has been a member of the DTI’s
Energy Advisory Panel and a visiting Professor at the University of
Maastrict. He sits on a number of Committees and Advisory Boards and
helps with UNEP’s GEO programme.
