Manchester Bike Week
The aim of the week is to encourage residents to try cycling and to
think about incorporating it into a healthier lifestyle. All of the
activities are designed for people who presently either do not cycle at
all, or not very much. There will be plenty of information and guidance
to help them, including details of training and future cycle activities.

City Centre Cycle Show Sat 11th June

      * Entertainment - amazing stunt cycle displays by the MAD team;
        cycling-based street theatre; cycling clown.
      * 
        Participatory Activities - Cycling Projects cycling roadshow
        with a wide range of different types of bikes including adapted
        bikes for people with disabilities; 'wacky bikes' are unusual
        bikes for children to try to ride; Bike Right children’s cycle
        skills and fun activity; city centre Guided Cycle Ride on a
        short, safe route around the city led by suitably-qualified ride
        leaders.
      * 
        Displays - vintage bikes and memorabilia; health screening
        service; computrainer; roller racing; information displays from
        a wide number of organisations.
      * 
        Police auction of reclaimed bikes.
      * 
        Cycle retailers.
      * 
        Healthy refreshments.
      * 
        Ride to the Show - local cycle groups will lead a ride in from a
        location to be confirmed. 

Easy Evening Rides Tue, Wed & Thur 14-16th June 

A practical 'hands-on' way of showing you where you can ride safely in
the area, with like-minded people of all ages. Also obtain advice and
assistance from experts in a relaxed setting and develop more social
contacts. 
The rides will be led by suitably qualified and experienced ride
leaders, supported by sufficient assistants. Participants can
pre-register or simply turn-up at the start. All rides will start at 6pm
and are free.

        Thur 16th June - Wythenshawe

Bike to Work and Cyclists Breakfast in Albert Square Wed 15th June, 8.00
- 9.30am

Ride in for a free breakfast! 
Anybody who rides in to the city on this day can come along to Albert
Square between 08:00 and 09:30 and have a free breakfast compliments of
Manchester City Council. 


Fallowfield Loop Ride and Cyclists' Picnic Sun 19th June, 11am - 1pm

To officially open this much-sought after link the GMCC and Bike Right
will be leading a ride around the Loop and into Albert Square for a
picnic.
